GITEX AI Asia, billed as Asia's largest tech and AI event, opens April 9–10 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, drawing more than 23,000 tech buyers and decision-makers from over 110 countries. The second edition of the conference arrives as regional AI spending accelerates and Singapore cements its position as a hub for AI deployment in the Asia-Pacific.

Scale and Scope

The event will bring together over 550 global enterprises and startups, more than 250 investors collectively managing US$350 billion in funds, and 175-plus speakers across two days of high-level conferences, technology showcases, and deal-making sessions.

Co-located platforms expand the event's reach across multiple technology verticals: AI Everything Singapore, Startups North Star Asia, GITEX DigiHealth & Biotech, Global Data Centres Asia, GISEC Asia, and GITEX Quantum Expo Asia. The breadth reflects how AI is increasingly intersecting with healthcare, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and physical infrastructure.

Why Singapore, Why Now

Singapore has emerged as a focal point for AI investment in Southeast Asia. Microsoft recently committed $5.5 billion to cloud and AI infrastructure in the city-state, while regional AI spending is projected to reach $78 billion by 2026 according to IDC. The combination of political stability, robust data infrastructure, and proximity to fast-growing markets across ASEAN has made Singapore the default choice for companies looking to establish an AI presence in the region.

The timing is significant. Geopolitical tensions — including the Iran conflict's impact on energy prices and the ongoing US-China technology rivalry — are reshaping where companies choose to invest in AI infrastructure. Southeast Asia is increasingly positioned as a neutral ground that benefits from this rebalancing.

What to Watch

Key themes at GITEX AI Asia 2026 include enterprise AI deployment at scale, startup-investor matchmaking, and regional AI governance frameworks. The event is expected to generate significant deal flow, particularly for AI startups seeking expansion into Asian markets.

Registration remains open, with the event running through April 10.
