Tripo AI Raises $150M Series A3 as 3D Foundation Models Push Toward Interactive Worlds

Beijing-based Vast's Tripo AI has stacked a $150 million Series A3 on top of nearly $200 million raised in June, funding Project Eden and a roadmap from 3D asset generation to persistent world models.

Tripo AI, the 3D generation platform built by Beijing-based Vast, has closed a $150 million Series A3 round — its second major raise in roughly a month, following the nearly $200 million Series A+ and A++ announced in June that pushed the company past a $1 billion valuation.

An investor list that reads like a strategy

The July round pulls together strategic and financial investors across automotive, gaming, internet and technology: Geely Capital, gaming firms 4399 Network, Tanwan and Giant Network, strategic backers Fosun Capital and Orinno Capital, and financial investors including CoStone Capital, Addor Capital, T-Capital and Muhua Tech Ventures.

The sector mix is the tell. Gaming companies want production-ready assets; automakers want simulation environments for autonomous driving and robotics training. Tripo's text- and image-to-3D models serve the first market today, and the second is where the new money points.

From assets to worlds

Alongside the raise, Vast is pushing Project Eden, a world-model research initiative targeting persistent, reusable and multiplayer interactive environments — a step beyond generating individual 3D objects toward generating spaces that agents and humans can inhabit and act in.

That roadmap places Tripo in the same race that has drawn DeepMind's Genie line and a cluster of well-funded startups: world models are increasingly seen as the training substrate for embodied AI, letting robots learn in simulation at a scale physical data collection cannot match.

China's 3D moment

Tripo's back-to-back rounds — nearly $350 million in six weeks — make Vast one of the best-capitalized generative 3D companies anywhere, and another data point in a summer when Chinese AI startups across embodied intelligence, wearables and world models have raised aggressively from platform and industrial capital. The through-line: Chinese investors are funding the layers where AI meets the physical world.
