Deezer: AI Tracks Now Over Half of All Daily Uploads — 90,000 Songs a Day

The AI music flood has crossed a symbolic threshold: fully AI-generated tracks made up more than 50 percent of new daily uploads to Deezer in June — roughly 90,000 songs every day, the streaming service disclosed.

The trajectory: The share has climbed relentlessly — 44 percent (75,000 tracks daily) in April, over half by June. At current rates, Deezer ingests more AI music in a month than the entire recorded output of some historical decades.

The asymmetry: Despite dominating uploads, fully AI-generated music accounts for just 1-3 percent of actual streams. The overwhelming majority of synthetic tracks are never meaningfully listened to — much of the volume exists to game algorithmic playlists or generate fraudulent streams.

The response: Deezer, whose patent-pending AI detection tool has run since January 2025, already excludes AI tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations. It will now go further: taking down generative-AI tracks used for stream fraud, and removing those with no streams for six months or more.

Why it matters: Deezer is the only major streamer publishing these numbers, making it the industry's de facto measurement instrument. If its ratios hold across Spotify and Apple Music, the economics of streaming — where every fraudulent synthetic stream dilutes the royalty pool — face a structural problem that detection-and-takedown can only chase, not solve. Meanwhile, models like Kunlun's Mureka V9.5 are working to make the next wave undetectable by ear.
